Compiled on October 10, 2026, from the pull requests merged into the VULK product in September 2026.
In September 2026 we merged 491 pull requests into the VULK product. Most of them are invisible on purpose: tests, safety checks, billing reconciliation, internal tools. This post skips those and keeps the changes you can see or feel when you build with VULK, grouped by area and explained in plain language.
Every item below comes from a merged change. Where a later change reversed or replaced one, we say so, so this page does not describe something that is no longer true.
Phone apps: real Flutter, from preview to APK
September is the month Flutter became a first-class target in VULK rather than a web page shaped like a phone.
- Flutter compiles as Flutter. Previews are now built by Flutter's own compiler on our build service and checked by a smoke test before you see them. When a preview build expires, it is compiled again instead of breaking.
- The engine loads from VULK. The Flutter preview now loads its engine from our own servers instead of a third-party CDN.
- Apps can change after the first answer. Edits now work out which Dart files a request affects and change those, instead of failing on a second turn.
- Ask for a phone app, get a phone app. A request for a mobile app is routed to Flutter, and a Dart screen is treated as a Dart screen, not as a React page.
- A signed Android APK. Your project can be compiled into a signed APK and downloaded. You can sign it with a key VULK keeps for your account, or upload your own keystore in the new app signing settings, which guide you step by step and link each step to where it happens.
- Your design, in the app. The fonts of your design now ship inside the app (no fallback to Roboto, no font fetched at runtime), the authored design compiles into the app instead of Material's default lilac, and the name you save is the name under the icon on Android.
- Real phone features. Apps can use maps, location, the camera, PDFs, sharing and local reminders through code the compiler writes, never invented native channels.
- Flutter on the web. A Flutter project can be published to its own address as a static web app.
- A mobile setup guide walks you through identity, platform and build steps.
3D models
- New model maker. 3D objects are now made with Tencent's Hunyuan 3D 3.1, priced per run, and at the end of the month we moved to Tencent's Hunyuan 3D Pro 3.1 directly, with its own accounting and recovery.
- The object you asked for. You can choose the finish and the pose of an object when you ask for it.
- Edit without losing it. Changing a 3D object makes a new one from the photo its parent was made from, so the original stays.
- As many objects as your credits cover. A 3D scene no longer fails on its fourth object; the limit is your balance.
- Better finishing. The finishing step now keeps geometry, materials and separately selectable parts intact.
- Download the GLB. A finished object can be downloaded from its line in the project card.
Video and Director
- Four more video engines. OpenRouter became our second video provider, adding Wan 2.7, Wan 3.0, Seedance 2.0 and Hailuo 3 to the picker, priced from clips we actually paid for.
- Director, a space of its own. Director now has its own surface for making images and video: a work view with a rail, a stage and a history, image shot types and a reference image.
- Director inside the chat. Later in the month Director moved into the new chat as one of four tabs sharing one message box.
Models
- New models. Astra Pro, Gemini 3.8 Flash and DeepSeek 4.1 Flash joined the model picker.
- The card names the models. Each generation card now says which model read your request and which wrote the code.
- Fast mode on Max. Max subscribers can use Fast mode, OpenAI's priority lane, billed by the lane that actually served the request.
- Auto on Pro and above now runs GPT-6.1 Sol.
- Every plan, every model. On September 21 every plan could pick every model, with credits as the meter. This changed on October 8: Builder now stops at GPT-6.1 Sol and Claude Sonnet 5, and higher models need Pro.
Publishing and delivery
- SEO for published sites. Sites published on VULK now get a canonical address, robots rules per host and a sitemap, and a missing page returns a proper 404 page instead of raw text.
- Every project can be published. The publish button now works for every project, and what goes live is the delivery you see on screen, checked by the build.
- The backend follows the site. A project's backend is bound into both the preview and the published build, so the live site uses the same database you tested.
- Internal links checked against real routes. Before delivery, every link between pages of your site is checked against the routes the site actually has, so a link to a route the site does not have no longer reaches you.
- Fonts from our own CDN. Every web font now comes from VULK's CDN in the preview, the published site, the ZIP and the GitHub export, so a network that blocks Google Fonts no longer shows system fonts.
The studio
- Chats you can bring back. Deleting a chat now tells you its app goes with it, offers Undo, and keeps it under Chats › Deleted.
- Clearer chat addresses.
/newstarts a new chat,/chatsis the archive, and the old/chatredirects. - A dashboard per project with its own address, a sidebar and an overview, including a Backend tab with the database, the app's users, the API and secrets.
- Import. A new Import entry in the sidebar brings in an existing project from seven sources, including a public GitHub repository, a ZIP file and a local folder.
- Restores say what they restore. Restoring an earlier version asks you to confirm its scope first.
- Better project names. New projects get short generated names, and a title you set by hand is kept.
- Your attachments are yours to reuse. Videos and GLB files you attach are stored whole, and anything in your project's assets can be pulled into a request with
@. - The chat accepts video as an attachment.
- Connectors and Skills now live in one place in Settings, and connecting GitHub works from that row.
- Out of credits, two ways forward. When a request needs more credits, the message offers both Buy credits and Upgrade plan.
Paying fairly
- Two racing generations, one charge. When two generations race for the same request, only the one that is delivered is charged, including the step that reads your request.
- Failed deliveries are refunded. When an independent check confirms that a delivery failed, its charge is returned, once.
- Your currency. Checkout now charges in the currency of your country, euro or dollar, the same one the website shows.
- Annual plans receive their credits month by month.
- Pro gifts can be redeemed directly in the upgrade checkout.
Generated websites look better
- A brand for every site. Generated sites get a brand of their own and motion that responds to the pointer.
- A design standard in code. We turned our design standard into measured rules, banded by genre and checked against a corpus of 47 reference templates, with a section budget per route.
- A premium visual system for generated full-stack apps.
- Laravel became its own build route instead of a translation of the React one.
Eight languages, everywhere
- German uses "du", welcome emails come in all eight languages, and prices follow your locale.
- Error messages in your language. Chat validation and the "no session" error now speak all eight languages.
Showcase
- Miso, a kinetic world with a small cat, joined the showcase as a project you can open and fork.
- Every published template now shows in the catalogue.
